I’ve been through an exhausting life period but I didn’t find ways to rest. Therefore my body said stop and became sick. It pushed me to look after my body. My body was sick for about two weeks. I had been applying the following methods to cure myself.
- Throughout the days I drank plenty of warm ginger tea.
- Every morning I took ginger-curcuma shot. (2 cm raw ginger, 2 cm raw curcuma blended in little warm water, 1 tsp honey, juice of half a lemon.) When it felt too harsh in my stomach, I blended in a ripe banana. This turned out to be a powerful breakfast choice for these days.
- Every morning and evening I did steam inhalation. (2-2 drops peppermint and eucaliptus essential oil.) I practiced kapalabhati over the steam.
- Applied breathe ease balm (aka “tiger balm”) on the chest before going to sleep. Ihana Remedies offers a wonderful one.
- Used a pillow under my head. Normally I sleep without pillow. Lifting my head helped with breathing.
- Cooked with garlic and onion. Made vegetable cream soups for every dinner. (Normally I don’t eat garlic and onions.)
- Kept fasting once a week to give my digestive system a rest too. (I drank ginger tea only.)
- Used neti pot with warm saline water to cleanse my nostrils. It’s a hatha yoga cleansing method.
- Kept practicing anuloma viloma breathing exercise. (This method is part of my normal daily routine.)
- Kept practicing asanas. Although for a much shorter time, my body was weak. Particularly sarvangasana felt good.
- Tried to sleep as much as my body required.
