Enjambre: Mania Cardiaca (Mexico, 2007)
KEXP runs a Live From Mexico City program that features amazing brands from Latin America. I’ve discovered couple of great mexican bands by tuning to it.
-
Carlos Haayen Y Su Piano Candeloso: Palenque (Colombia, 1966)
I follow the label Analog Africa on Bandcamp which has recently promoted the album Super Disco Pirata the other day, featuring a lot of great salsa, tropical, cumbia, and funk songs from 1965-1980.
-
Bebel Gilberto: Tanto Tempo (Peter Kruder Remix) (Brasil, 2001)
I remembered Bebel Gilberto the other day when I was listening to some bossa nova. I used to listen to her music in my early twenties a lot. Her album Tanto Tempo Remixes, featuring electronic dance versions of her songs, was a hit on my Last.fm library for a long time.

Desert Dwellers: Great Mistery (Colorado, US, 2015)
Desert Dwellers produces the best psychill music. I can’t wait to go to the Boom festival this year.
-
La P’tite Fumée: Surprise (France, 2015)
One of my go to bands to dance for.
-
Дeva: 11 (Két Szál) (Hungary, 2025)
Deva has just debuted her second album. A nice blend of Hungarian folk and downtempo beats.
-
Son Rompe Pera: Cumbia is the New Punk (Columbia, 2023)
-
Másfél: Angyaltojás (Hungary, 2000)
Másfél was one of the first Hungarian rock bands that I’ve seen performing live at various music festivals at young age. Instead of the Doors or Pink Floyd, they were my gateway to psychedelic rock. Curiously, the song Angyaltojás and the album of the same title, was recorded in France.

La ciencia simple: Niebla (Chile, 2022)
-
The Mystery Lights: Cerebral Crack (New York, US, 2024)
There cannot be a mixtape without some bad-ass psychedelic rock music.
-
Par Asito: Event Horizon (Mexico, 2020)
Una locura par afin. Mi nueva banda favorita.
